Privacy policy
Effective October 9, 2026
This policy explains how Zia Code LLC (“ZiaCode”, “we”) handles personal information when you visit this website, subscribe to ZiaCode Direct, or hire us for custom software work.
What we collect
- What you give us: your name, business name, email address, phone number and billing address, and anything you write to us.
- Payment details: you enter card and bank details on our payment processor’s secure form. We receive and keep only limited details, such as the card brand, its last four digits and expiry date, or a bank’s name and the last four digits of the account.
- Your business’s data in ZiaCode Direct: the information you and your staff enter about your business and your customers. We hold it for you; see “Your customers’ information” below.
- Technical information: our servers log each request, such as the IP address it came from, the browser and the page asked for, and record errors, to run and secure the service.
- Cookies: we use only the cookies the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics.
How we use it
- to provide ZiaCode Direct and the work you hire us for, and to support you;
- to bill you, take payments and keep accounting records;
- to send you messages about your account, invoices, payments and changes to our services;
- to keep our services secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
- to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run ZiaCode, and only as far as they need to: our payment processor, our hosting and infrastructure providers, and the services that deliver our email and text messages.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, the public or ZiaCode.
- If ZiaCode is sold or merged, with the new owner, who must keep protecting it as this policy describes.
Your customers’ information
If you use ZiaCode Direct, you decide what information about your customers goes into it and how it is used. We process that information on your behalf, to provide the service to you, and do not use it for anything else. Questions from your customers about their information should go to you first; we will help you answer them.
Text messages (SMS)
When a business that uses ZiaCode Direct texts its customers, we process for that business:
- the customer’s mobile number;
- whether and when the customer agreed to texts, and the notice they saw;
- delivery records, such as when a message was sent and whether it arrived.
We use this only to send the messages the customer agreed to receive, for the business they deal with: reminders and updates, and offers from the business only if the notice they agreed to included them. We also keep the records the law requires.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. We pass a number only to the provider that delivers the message, and to the business the messages are sent for.
Customers can reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
How long we keep it
We keep account and business data while your subscription or project is active. After that we delete or anonymize it, except for records we must keep, such as invoices and payment records, which we keep for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring, and we never store full card or bank account numbers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask how we use it. Some states give you further rights, and we honor them. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request, and may keep records the law requires us to keep.
Children
ZiaCode is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We will post any update to this policy here with its effective date, and tell subscribers about important changes by email.
